About Edmonton Neighbourhoods United

Our Story

Edmonton Neighbourhoods United began as a conversation—sparked by the concerns of long-time residents in several mature neighbourhoods, where infill was being fast-tracked without meaningful public engagement.

The City pushed forward with sweeping zoning changes under Bylaw 20001. Residents were shocked by the unfolding changes and quickly realized the city had shut down meaningful input — putting their love for their neighbourhoods at risk, such as:

🏘️ The unique character of mature neighbourhoods.
🗣️ The silencing of community voices.
🧱 A shift in city-building that prioritizes density over livability.

What started as concern quickly became action. We came together not to resist change—but to ensure that change is responsible, thoughtful, and community-led.

Our Mission

To ensure every neighbourhood in Edmonton has a real voice in shaping its future—through people-first planning, transparent consultation, and decisions that reflect the true needs of our communities.

Our Vision

We envision a city where:

  • Infill supports—not overwhelms—existing neighbourhoods

  • Growth is backed by schools, transit, green space, and infrastructure

  • The unique identity of each community is respected

  • Residents aren’t sidelined, but invited to the table

A city where we grow together—not apart.

What We Stand For

Community-first development
Transparency in City Planning
Respect for existing infrastructure
Preservation of green space and livability
